Yokohama to build proving ground in Thailand

Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. will build a large proving ground in Thailand at a cost of 2.5 billion yen. Construction will be complete by April 2009.

Yokohama Rubber will construct a high-speed circuit, in addition to various test courses for the confirmation of driving stability, fuel efficiency, durability, noise, vibration and driving comfort.

At present, Yokohama Rubber owns a proving ground in Ibaraki Prefecture and Hokkaido Island in Japan. The Hokkaido track specializes in testing winter tires.
