NHTSA administrator will speak at Tire Industry Association event

Aug. 19, 2007

Jim Ports, deputy administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), will be a featured speaker at the Tire Industry Association (TIA) Breakfast with the President on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The event will be held in the Palace I ballroom prior to the opening of the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show, which features TIA's Performance Tires & Wheels trade show and seminars.

Ports will discuss "the many NHTSA-regulated issues that affect the tire industry," according to TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to meet one-on-one with Mr. Ports. NHTSA's regulations have far-reaching effects on most aspects of our business."

The Breakfast with the President, which will be held from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m., also will honor the Tire Industry Hall of Fame inductees. Tickets for the event are $35 and are available online at www.tireindustry.org/events.asp.
