Snap-on Diagnostics teams up with Mitchell 1 to provide repair information

July 11, 2007

Snap-on Diagnostics has teamed up with Mitchell 1 to provide expert tips for Mitchell 1’s new OnDemand Live feature, now available in the latest software versions of OnDemand5.com and ShopKey5.com.

OnDemand Live provides a solution for accessing live real-world tips and complete OEM information. This combination of both types of repair information provides technicians with one place to find all the information they need to fix vehicles better and faster.

Users of OnDemand5.com and ShopKey5.com also can add their own strategies, photos and suggestions. Every entry is reviewed by Mitchell 1 editors, validated, and if necessary, the reference information is corrected. In this way, technicians can come together to build a better source of information.

“Our goal with OnDemand Live is to offer an integrated forum where users can easily help each other save time with procedural shortcuts and avoid costly mistakes that lead to lost time and money,” said Dan Ramirez, general manager, Automotive Repair Solutions, Mitchell 1.

“The addition of Snap-on Fast-Track Troubleshooter expert tips allows us to provide technicians with an invaluable repository of validated tips created by real-world diagnostic technicians over the past several years. Fast and efficient diagnosis of today’s complex vehicles is the crux challenge for the vehicle repair industry today and this addition of Snap-on expert information provides the industry a significant step forward in meeting that challenge.”

“We are very pleased to partner with Mitchell 1 to provide real world tips to OnDemand Live users,” said Gerry Beronja, director, Global Marketing, Snap-on Diagnostics. “Together we have the leading development, support and data resources in the industry and we are proud to provide our proven information for the best and fastest growing expert tip database in the industry. We believe putting this information in both the Snap-on family of Scanner scan tools and in the industry’s leading information system will significantly reduce our customers’ diagnostic time.”
