Michelin to stop selling bias-ply BFGoodrich ag tires in NA

July 2, 2007

Michelin North America Inc. will no longer supply bias-ply BFGoodrich brand farm tires in North America. However, it will continue to sell radial Michelin and BFGoodrich farm tires throughout the United States and Canada.

"Since Michelin acquired the BFGoodrich brand in 1989, we have seen tremendous change in the agricultural industry," says Bill Schafer, vice president of marketing and sales for Michelin North America Agricultural Tires.

"Farming operations have increased in size and tractors, and harvesters and sprayers have grown larger and more powerful as a result.

"More than ever, these machines need the durability and performance advantages that radial technology delivers compared to bias-ply construction."
