BFNT drops used tires from company stores

Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC (BFNT) has told its 2,200 company-owned stores to stop selling used tires.

A memo was recently sent out to the locations.

"Used tires were such a small part of our business," says a BFNT spokesman. "This has been contemplated for a long time."

The ban, he notes, does not apply to tires with 500 miles or less on them.
