California lawmakers get insight into aftermarket

June 18, 2007

Representatives from California's automotive aftermarket recently met with "Golden State" legislators as part of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Sacramento Legislative Rally.

Issues discussed included health care, emissions standards, vehicle scrappage and others.

"SEMA has been engaged over the years with California (legislators) on a series of industry-specific issues and a range of business concerns impacting the health of the state's specialty equipment industry," says Steve McDonald, SEMA vice president of government affairs.

The rally "helped further increase awareness of our industry." It also "signaled SEMA's intention to increase its contribution to the debate on significant issues."
