Former Goodyear executive goes back to his basics

June 11, 2007

Jon Rich, former president of Goodyear Tire North America, has been named CEO and president of Momentive Performance Materials Holdings Inc. He replaces Wayne Hewett, who resigned.

During his tenure with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. from 2000 to early 2007, Rich developed a track record of business growth and optimization. Prior to joining Goodyear, he spent 18 years working for General Electric; from 1996 to 2000 he worked in the GE Silicones business, a predecessor entity to Momentive.

"I believe that my executive experiences at Goodyear, combined with my intimate knowledge of Momentive's strengths and opportunities from my time at GE Silicones, make me an ideal candidate to lead the business towards further growth," says Rich.

Momentive Performance Materials is a specialty materials company that provides high-technology materials solutions to the silicones, quartz and ceramics markets.

Rich left Goodyear in March (see "Kramer named president of Goodyear's North American Tire unit," March 14, 2007).
