May 31, 2007

American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) has reached an agreement to acquire Denver, Colo.-based Jim Paris Tire City in a deal that will expand ATD's reach across the entire state of Colorado.

Jim Paris Tire, which was founded in the early 1960s, has two distribution centers and two retail outlets.

ATD is only buying the distribution centers, which are located in Denver and Grand Junction, Colo., and service 1,500 customers.

"Jim Paris Tire is a premier tire distributor in its geographic area," says ATD Chairman and CEO Dick Johnson. "It has built a solid business based on strong management, efficient operations and an unwavering commitment to customer service.

"The Jim Paris Tire operation, including its strong team of people, will be an excellent complement to our current distribution center network in the Intermountain West."

ATD currently operates 74 distribution centers servicing 36 states.
