World Trade Association hires two former Goodyear employees

May 8, 2007

The World Trade Association (WTA) recently hired Peter Ahumada as vice president of OTR tire operations.

Prior to joining the WTA, Ahumada spent 37 years in OTR tire sales, service, and training for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. The last 18 years, he was responsible for tire sales and service as regional manager in the Caribbean and both Central and South America.

From 1982 through 1985, Ahumada was area manager in Southeast Asia, covering 22 countries.

Gilbert Ray, formerly senior field engineer, Southeast Region, for Goodyear, also joined WTA recently. He visits sites to determine proper product applications for WTA's Xtreme Products.

Ray's duties include evaluating operating conditions, inspecting equipment and checking air pressure checks. He also will document road conditions, speeds, loads, and do an in-depth OTR tire failure analysis at each site. The tire analysis will determine if WTA should do an in depth TMPH study and a tire temperature study.

WTA, a Coral Springs, Fla.-based tire importer, is distributing OTR tires made available by Italy's Uzmai International throughout North America.

WTA is selling the Maitech All-Steel Radial OTR line, which is manufactured in Turkey, as well as Xtreme bias-ply OTR tires, which are built in China.
