Allen Park, Mich.-based Belle Tire Distributors has moved into its new distribution center. The facility also contains Belle Tire's corporate office and training department.
"We purchased the building just over a year ago and have spent the last 12 months renovating and installing a bunch of warehousing technology to operate more efficiently," says Belle Tire Vice President Jeff Kruse.
The total size of the new building is 306,000 square feet with 120,000 square feet of warehousing.
"Warehouse configuration is all narrow aisle, high stack racking," says Kruse. "All aisles have RF wire guidance installed in the floor. Turret trucks and order pick trucks are all wire-guided. The racking system is designed to accommodate 100,000 tires and custom wheels."
Kruse adds that Belle Tire had modified its former warehouse/office building for medium truck tire storage.
