Jack Williams Tire acquires four-store chain

Jan. 8, 2007

Jack Williams Tire Co. Inc. has completed its acquisition of four Lehigh Tire and Service Centers. Both are Pennsylvania-based dealerships.

Former co-owners Steve Grimes and Hank Ensig have accepted management positions with Jack Williams Tire Co., and will both be involved in daily operations. Jack Williams Tire plans on employing all existing Lehigh Tire employees.

The two companies started a relationship in 2002 when Lehigh Tire joined the American Car Care Centers (ACCC) national dealer network program. Jack Williams Tire also is an ACCC member and a regional distributor.

"Our two companies have so many similarities that it just made sense for us to join forces and go to market together," says Grimes.

Lehigh Tire served the Lehigh Valley through four tire and auto service centers in the Allentown area and a wholesale tire warehouse at the company's headquarters in Freemansburg.

The acquisition gives Jack Williams Tire nine locations throughout the Lehigh Valley. "We are committed to providing the same high-quality service that Lehigh Tire is known for, and will add additional services and products through Jack Williams Tire," says Bill Williams, chairman and CEO.

In addition to having more tire lines from which to choose, Lehigh Tire customers will be able to have their tires filled with nitrogen when Jack Williams Tire installs UltraFill 99 High Purity Nitrogen tire inflation units in the four former Lehigh Tire retail locations.

Jack Williams Tire Co., based in Moosic, Pa., has 28 retail locations, including a high performance location, Auto Addictions, plus a large wholesale division. Bill Williams was named Modern Tire Dealer's 2006 Tire Dealer of The Year.
