TIA is accepting scholarship applications

Dec. 20, 2013

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is accepting applications for the 2014 Michelin / TIA Scholarship from now to Jan. 13, 2014. The scholarship program is open to part-time employees and dependent children of full-time employees of TIA member tire dealers.

TIA says applicants must be a high school senior planning to pursue a post-secondary education at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational technical school.  In addition, applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Michelin North America, Inc. and TIA employees and dependent children are not eligible.

“TIA is pleased to continue to partner with Michelin on the scholarship program. Since the program’s inception in 2000, more than $250,000 has been awarded so we know the program is making a positive impact,” says TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.

All applicants of the Michelin / TIA Scholarship Program are evaluated on three criteria: academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community leadership qualities.

Once awarded, the recipients may renew the scholarship for up to three more years.

Interested applicants can apply online at www.scholarshipprograms.org/mtia or call Ashley Sweatt at 864-268-3363 for more information.
