Double H Tire raises $2,500 for shelter

Dec. 5, 2013

Bids placed on two sets of tires furnished by Todd Hamilton, owner of Leroy’s Corp. dba Double H Tire in Mineral Wells, Texas, for a charity auction raised $2,500 for a local battered women’s shelter.

Hamilton provided the Yokohama and Hankook brand tires to the annual Hope Inc. Gala, a black tie fundraising event, in November 2013. This year’s event, entitled “An Evening of Hope,” raised over $44,000 for the shelter.

Hamilton has supported this cause for many years with attendance, donations and merchandise for the auctions.

Hope Inc., a refuge for battered women and their children, was started in Mineral Wells in 1983 by a group of concerned citizens.

The independent, locally governed nonprofit organization has assisted more than 30,000 battered and abused women and children in Palo Pinto, Parker, Hood and Erath counties to date, according to Hamilton. The monies raised from this year’s event will be used towards matching grant funds for the shelter.
