Toyo plant earns environmental certification

Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc. announced its Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing Inc. (TNA) plant in White, Ga., has achieved certification to the latest ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems.  

The nearly 2 million square foot manufacturing and warehousing facility was established in June 2004 and produces the Toyo Tires and Nitto tire brands.

The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an organization which develops and publishes international standards.

“We have developed and implemented our own environmental management processes and activities that assure employees are working for an environmentally conscious company,” says Barbara J. Long, environmental, safety and health coordinator for Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing. 

“This voluntary certification demonstrates this commitment to minimizing environmental impact and being a responsible member of our community.”

High performance passenger car and light truck tires are produced at the facility.  Products include Toyo Proxes ST II, Toyo Open Country A/T II, Toyo Open Country M/T, Toyo Proxes 4 Plus, Nitto Grappler, Nitto NT 420S and Nitto NT 555.
