Tire registration service provider CIMS has signed El Paso, Texas-based Martin Tire Co. to a point-of-sale electronic tire registration agreement.
Martin Tire "is the first ASA Tire Systems dealer who will take advantage of the newly created tire registration interface between
CIMS and ASA Tire Systems TreadX software," says CIMS President Paul Kruder.
"By using (ASA's) TreadX software, all the required tire registration information is collected at the point of sale and then automatically transferred to the CIMS Electronic Tire Registration Clearinghouse.
"Tire registration is not only the law, it is an invaluable
safety protection for the consumer," Kruder continues.
"By automatically registering every tire on behalf of the consumer, Martin Tire is providing every one of its customers the protection of being directly notified in the event of a safety related recall."
