VIP Tires sharpens managers' leadership skills

Oct. 16, 2013

VIP Tires & Service (VIP) recently gathered managers from its 56 locations for an annual conference to discuss business issues, receive training from more than a dozen key suppliers and honor managers who achieved “TOP 10” status for sales growth during VIP’s fiscal 2013.

The company says the annual meetings reflect its commitment to continuing education and investment in the leadership skills of its people. Training was held from Bangor, Maine, to Concord, N.H.  Managers spent a day learning how to further develop the knowledge and skills of their teams.

The sessions helped VIP’s store-level leaders keep their  focus on the company vision after a year of change. With the sale of VIP’s parts division at the end of 2012, all 56 stores underwent a complete remodeling.

“I’m really proud of all that our people have accomplished this past year,” says John Quirk, CEO and president.

“They had a lot thrown at them, but they found a way to win despite the hurdles. Through it all, the staff has remained committed to being the resource their customers can turn to for all their automotive needs.”

VIP Tires & Service, based in Lewiston, Maine, operates 56 stores located throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
