New Mitas harvester tire sizes at Agritechnica

Oct. 15, 2013

At the Agritechnica 2013 fair in Hannover, Germany, Nov. 12-16, 2013, Mitas a.s., the Czech Republic-based parent company of Mitas Tires North America Inc., will unveil its range extension of cyclic harvesting operation (CHO) tires.

Mitas will present five new sizes of CHO under the Continental and Mitas brands. Visitors will have the chance to see the 900/60R32 CHO 176A8/173B and 800/70R32 CHO 175A8/172B on display at the Mitas stand, No. B 06, hall 9.

“The range extension of CHO tires proves these tires are a favorite choice of combine harvester producers,” says Andrew Mabin, sales and marketing director at Mitas.

“Mitas now offers six sizes of CHO tires on worldwide markets under the Mitas and Continental brands.”

CHO is capable of higher maximum loads than more conventional tires and at the same time, the tire permits higher yields through gentler ground handling in the field and more comfort on the road.

“In CHO, we designed a tire capable to carry more load at a lower tire pressure,” says Hans-Ulrich Klose, head of the automotive engineering unit at Mitas.

The new CHO tyres from Mitas address the specific requirements for a new combine generation:

  • Maximum load capacity;
  • Minimum inflation pressure during cyclic harvest operation;
  • Good driving stability in road application;
  • Use of standard rims;;
  • Reduces soil compaction thanks to a larger footprint; and
  • Fulfils all legal requirements (limited vehicle width).
