Big O Tires LLC, a subsidiary of TBC Corp., is once again supporting the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Pediatric Cancer with an awareness and donations campaign in July. More than 530 Big O Tires stores are participating in the campaign.

This year also marks the third year that the Big O and the corporate office are contributing $50,000 to the foundation, which brings total company donations to $150,000. During the last two years of the campaign, more than $28,000 also has been donated by customers visiting Big O locations.

Customers who donate will receive a personalized paper lemon to post at the stores to show their support.

Big O's sister companies ran a similar campaign in June (See "TBC stores to help fight pediatric cancer," June 5, 2008.)

The campaign emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who died in 2004 at the age of six. At the age of 4, Alex opened her first lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer.

"We have received very positive feedback from customers and employees in appreciation of the company being involved in such a worthwhile cause," says Kevin Kormondy, Big O's executive vice president and COO.
