Dealers to participate in Toyo Tire's Proxes Summer Tour

June 24, 2008

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has launched the Proxes Summer Tour, an eight-weekend tour designed to drive traffic to independent Toyo tire dealers.

Focusing on Toyo’s Proxes family of high performance and ultra-high performance tires, the tour will visit a different city each Saturday from July 12 through August 30.

The fun, interactive events will include special sales promotions, free food, autograph sessions by local cheerleaders or Toyo models and outdoor displays featuring the Proxes line of products, the company says. Local radio stations will also be on site giving away movie passes and tickets to sporting events and concerts. In addition, one lucky attendee at each location will win a set of Proxes tires.

“The Proxes Summer Tour is a great way for people to enjoy their Saturday with plenty of food and fun, while being able to meet their local Toyo tire dealers,” says Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports. “It is also a chance to learn about the entire family of high performance Proxes tires for passenger cars, SUVs and sport trucks.”

The Proxes family of tires includes the new Proxes ST II next generation high-performance tire for SUVs, sport trucks and select crossovers.

Proxes tires for passenger cars include the Proxes TPT, which is a premium performance upgrade for sedans and coupes, the Proxes 4 all-season UHP tire available in a broad range of fitments, and the Proxes T1R premium ultra-high performance tire. The Proxes R888 is an R-compound, DOT-approved competition tire and is the spec tire for SPEED World Challenge.

In addition, the Proxes R1R extreme performance tire won the 2007 Formula Drift and D1 drifting championship and is currently winning in the street touring category of SCCA autocross and street classes at time attack events.
