Get the right A/C parts with Motorcraft Kit

Aug. 6, 2013

The Ford Motor Co. says air-conditioning season is in full swing and Ford is making it easier through the Motorcraft Air Conditioning (MAC) Kit Tool for automotive service centers to quickly identify the right parts for a complete AC system repair.

The MAC Kit Tool first launched in 2010 as a tool for Ford and Lincoln dealers and Ford Authorized Distributors to identify all of the parts affected by a complete system failure without having to page through dense parts catalogs.

With the addition of the MAC Kit Tool to the Ford ecommerce site, eCounter, the universe of technicians who can access the tool has grown exponentially. Today thousands of users have login credentials for eCounter and more are joining every day.

“Typically with catastrophic AC compressor failures, you need multiple parts to fully complete the repair and avoid potential system performance issues or a come-back,” says Tom Hodges, Ford product marketing manager.

“Traditionally, that required a lot of catalog shopping and ‘frankly’ a lot of confusion over which parts make up an entire system. We’ve taken the guessing out of the equation, which has saved a lot of time and money, especially during the hot summer months.”

In addition to eCounter, customers also access a public version of the MAC Kit Tool by visiting mackit.motorcraft.com. Keep up with the latest on Motorcraft, including information on this tool by watching Newsflash videos at www.youtube.com/motorcraft.
