No failure to communicate with Oakley

Paul Oakley will join Bridgestone Americas Inc. as vice president of communications effective July 22, 2013.

Oakley has an extensive background in managing corporate and marketing communications for leading industrial products and technology companies in North and South America. Most recently, he served as a director of global communications and regional public and government affairs at Dow Chemical Co.

During more than 12 years at Dow, he led teams and various employee, marketing, crisis and community communications programs in support of a wide variety of businesses based in Philadelphia; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Zurich, Switzerland; and Houston. Prior to his tenure with Dow, Oakley served as account director with the former Corporate Technology Communications Inc. in Chicago. He also worked in various business-to-business account roles with Gibbs and Soell Inc. in Chicago.

Earlier this year, Oakley was named one of Philadelphia’s “40 Under 40” for professional excellence and community involvement by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
