At its biannual board of directors meeting held June 12-14, 2013, the Tire Industry Association (TIA) elected Glen Nicholson board secretary. He will begin his one-year term as secretary on Nov. 4, 2013.

After that year, he will proceed as vice president, then president, then past president. All of these positions will be for one-year terms.

Nicholson has more than 30 years of experience in the retail tire industry, and has held positions ranging from tire technician to multi-store manager. He is currently the director of retail education and quality assurance for the TBC Retail Group.

TBC’s retail operations include company-operated tire and automotive service centers under the Tire Kingdom, Merchant's Tire & Auto Centers and National Tire & Battery brands. The company also oversees franchise operations for the Big O Tire, Midas and SpeeDee Oil Change brands.

Nicholson was elected to the TIA board in 2009 and serves on the training/education committee, the events committee and the environmental advisory council.
