India-based tiremaker Apollo Tyres Ltd. has named Peter Becker its chief of research and technology.
Becker comes to Apollo from Goodyear Dunlop Germany, where he was senior manager of tire development.
"He will be leading Apollo's initiatives in tire technology, research and new product development, especially keeping in mind the mobility needs of European customers," say Apollo officials.
Becker will be based in Germany, where he will establish an R&D facility for his new employer.
Apollo recently announced plans to set up a passenger tire manufacturing plant in Hungary, with an initial investment of 200 million euros.
