Autopromotec: Over 100,000 attend in 2013

June 4, 2013

More than 100,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors attest to the success of the 2013 International Biennal Exhibition of Automotive Equipment and Aftermarket Products, or Autopromotec for short, say show organizers.

Participation in the trade fair, which ran from May 22-26 in Bologna, Italy, was characterized by:

* a high number of exhibitors (1,512, of which 39% were from 52 foreign countries);

* a large covered area (a total of 156,000 square metres, of which 20,000 was outdoors); and

* a high visitor turnout (102,536 in total, of which 83,594 came from Italy and 18,942 from abroad).

According to show organizers, there were 1.8% fewer Italian exhibitors compared to the 2011 show. The decrease was attributed to businesses hit harder by the economic crisis, such as car wash stations, dealers and workshops. However, the 2013 show enjoyed a 2.2% increase in the number of foreign visitors, including representatives from many high-profile, highly specialized businesses, over 2011.

In addition, Autopromotec 2013 included a series of conferences on the state of aftermarket industry in several key countries.The conferences were part of AutopromotecEDU, the trade fair forum that focuses on examining the current issues of the automotive aftermarket. Arlene Davies and Michael Barrett from the the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association and Roy Littlefield of the Tire Industry Association were among conference’s speakers.

The next edition of Autopromotec will take place at Bologna’s exhibition center from May 20 to 24, 2015.
