Continental Tire the Americas LLC announced that Y Tire Sales Inc. of Los Angeles is the newest licensee to sell ContiTread retreads in the U.S.
Since 1955, Y Tire has offered new and retreaded truck tires, as well as 24-hour emergency road service and OTR tire service in the southern California counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura. A specialist in professional fleet tire management programs, Y Tire is now retreading truck tires with ContiTread flat precure treads at its 35,000 square-foot facility in Los Angeles.
Technical support, field sales support, quality and retreads that match the new Continental truck tires were what led owner Jeannine Layman to bring the ContiLifeCycle philosophy to Y Tire. “Quality has been our hallmark at Y Tire for more than 60 years,” says Layman.
“All of our technicians are certified by the Tire Industry Association, and we also expect nothing less than high performance from the tires we offer. When we found out that the ContiTreads are engineered with the same compounds and tread designs as the new Continental tires, plus they have also been verified by SmartWay, we knew we had a retread product that matched our way of doing business. Continental treats us like a partner, not just a customer.”
The complete line of Continental’s ContiTread retread products is already available to Y Tire customers, with a wide variety of long haul, regional and construction patterns.
Two ContiTread products are verified for low rolling resistance by the U.S. EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership, thus meeting the California Air Resources Board requirements for retreads, with eight more slated for submission before the end of 2013.
