Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC has named Lisa Boggs director of motorsports. She assumes the role previously held by Al Speyer, former executive director of motorsports, who recently retired after 38 years with the company.

In her new position, Boggs is responsible for managing, directing, planning and coordinating all of Bridgestone Americas motorsport and motorsport marketing activities.

“Lisa’s strong marketing and public relations experience will be a huge advantage to us in enhancing our market presence and leveraging our motorsports partnerships,” says Phil Pacsi, vice president of customer marketing and training. “Her expertise will keep us moving forward as we work to energize our existing loyal fan base as well as engage a new generation of fans in the sport.”

Boggs has an extensive background developing brand programs that leverage motorsports sponsorships and assets. Before joining Bridgestone, she spent seven years at Edelman Public Relations leading brand programs for clients in the IndyCar Series and NASCAR series, including IZOD, Office Depot, Shell, Armor All and STP. She also oversaw the 100th anniversary Indianapolis 500 public relations campaign.

Additionally, Lisa held positions with Philip Morris USA Inc. as part of the team dedicated to the Marlboro brand sponsorship of Team Penske in IndyCar, and at Leo Burnett Co. Inc. working with clients Procter & Gamble Co. and Philip Morris.

Bridgestone also promoted Dale Harrigle from section manager of race tire development to chief engineer/manager of race tire development.

Harrigle began his career with Bridgestone in 1992, and has been extensively involved with race tire development for more than 18 years. He has been involved in the design of all types of tires for the IZOD IndyCar Series, from rain tires to the tires used at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“Dale’s extensive experience in race tire engineering is a tremendous asset to our motorsports program," says Pacsi. "This expertise, along with his strong motorsports relationships, makes him the ideal technical leader to carry our legacy in motorsports forward."

The changes within the motorsports program were designed "to further enhance the company’s strong legacy of exceptional support for the IndyCar Series," says the company.
