75,000-mile warranty backs General Altimax RT43

April 30, 2013

The newest addition to the General Altimax tire line is the Altimax RT43. The all-season touring tire features two new technologies designed to help provide the consumer "impressive value," says the company.

The tire was Introduced at the the Uvalde Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, on April 30, 2013.

The new technologies are:

1. Peak Anti-Slip Sipe Design Technology, which increases the number of biting edges for traction on slippery roads.

2. Low Surface Abrasion Technology, which results in construction elements that reduce tread distortion as the tire rolls. The results is less surface abrasion, which leads to even tread wear and extended tread life.

“Our  tire engineers have combined several technologies to give the consumer an all-season touring tire that is a notable value,” says Travis Roffler, director of marketing for Continental Tire the Americas LLC. “We have married together two new technologies with our existing Replacement Tire Monitor and Visual Alignment Indicators technologies for one fantastic tire.

"Our team has constructed a tire that is stylish and gives the consumer a solid value while providing the performance they demand. This is important to our customers who are looking to stretch a dollar in today’s economy.”

Continental backs the Altimax RT43 by some of the strongest warranty and service programs in the industry. The all-season touring tire has a 45-day customer satisfaction trial and a 75,000-mile limited tread life warranty. It comes in a wide range of sizes -- from 13 through 18 inches -- and has a Uniform Tire Quality Grading wear rating of 600 for the 13- through 15-inch sizes and 700 for the 16-  through 18-inch sizes.
