Goodyear honored as top Boeing supplier

April 22, 2013

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has been named a supplier of the year by the Boeing Co. The award recognizes Goodyear for exceptional performance and contributions to Boeing’s overall success during 2012.

Goodyear was selected from a pool of more than 23,000 Boeing suppliers from around the world. Boeing honored 16 companies and one university.

“In today’s challenging business environment, an agile supply chain that continuously delivers excellent performance is critical,” says Jack House, vice president of supplier management for Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security unit and leader of Boeing’s companywide supplier management program.

The selection of the winning suppliers is based on statistical measurements of quality, on-time delivery, post-delivery support, cost and the ability to anticipate and respond to changing customer requirements, according to Boeing.

“Boeing has been a valued Goodyear customer for many years,” says Pierre Jambon, vice president, Off-Highway Tires, Goodyear. “This is an important honor, and we look forward to maintaining a high level of excellence as we continue to supply our premium tires and services to Boeing.”

Goodyear supplies aviation tires for commercial, military and general aviation aircraft. The company manufactures aviation tires and retreads in the United States, Thailand, Brazil and The Netherlands. For more information, visit http://www.goodyearaviation.com.
