New Mitas ERL-50 radial mining/loader/dozer tire

April 15, 2013

MITAS a.s., the Czech Republic-based parent company of Mitas Tires North America Inc., has unveiled the newest addition to its family of ERL earth-moving tires, the 20.5R25 ERL-50. It will be available for worldwide sale in July, 2013.

ERL tires are used on loaders, dozers and graders in mining operations. The Mitas ERL series features 12 various tires of 1.1-inch to 3.6-inch (28-mm to 90-mm) tread depth.

“Customers demand durability and resistance to damage from our quarry tires, resulting in added value and lowered cost through the retreading of the tire,” says Andrew Mabin, Mitas’ sales and marketing director.

“The ERL-50 tread pattern is particularly resistant to cut and wear. This radial tire is designed for durability as Mitas altered its tread pattern and incorporated steel cord in the body and breaker,” says Petr Hala, Mitas’ industrial product manager.

“Mitas ERL and ERD tires respond to various off-road surfaces by changing in tread design and functionality.”

Mitas makes specific tires for machines operating in specific demanding conditions, including gravel and rock quarries. The ERL-50 is designed for rocky conditions.

Mitas a.s says it is one of Europe’s leading producers of agricultural tires. Mitas manufactures and sells tires under the company’s own brands Mitas and Cultor, and Continental under license.
