Kumho sponsors China motorsports tour

Feb. 8, 2013

In late 2012, Kumho Tire Co. Ltd. signed to sponsor the 2013 China Touring Car Championship (CTCC), one of the nation’s top car racing events, and to participate as an official tire supplier to the motor race.

The CTCC features China’s premium level racers, supported from the FASC (Federation of Automobile Sports of PRC) and FIA (Federation International de l’Automobile). More than 10,000 spectators come to the race and state-run Chinese Central Television broadcasts it exclusively.

“Through this partnership with the CTCC, Kumho is able to confirm that our technology and reputation in China are well recognized and increasing in strength,” says Hyung Woo Kim, marketing executive of Kumho Tires China.

“We will actively use the CTCC in promoting our technology and brand, as this is an excellent stage to showcase Kumho Tires’ technical capabilities and passion towards motorsports.”

In China, Kumho Tires began sponsoring the Asia Formula Renault (AFR) in 2006 and has participated in the China Rally Championship (CRC) since 2011.
