In April, John Baratta, president of consumer replacement tire sales for Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC, spoke at the New York Tire Dealers Association (NYTDA) general meeting. In August, it will be former President John Gamauf's turn.
Baratta told NYTDA members that they should "think outside the box" and be more creative in order to drive sales in this ever-changing industry. He spoke about the importance of stores having the right image and sales associates having the right experience instead of just selling at the right price.
Gamauf will be honored at the annual NYTDA golf outing on August 7, 2008. He recently retired from Bridgestone Firestone after 39 years of service.
The outing will be held at the Stonebridge Country Club in Smithtown, N.Y., and includes lunch, a full day of golf, dinner, cocktails and a raffle.
There are sponsorships available for the outing, and the NYTDA is currently accepting reservations for golfers.
