Are you too negative? You are not alone

Jan. 21, 2013

Ever hear the song, "Accentuate the Positive" by Johnny Mercer? He co-wrote the song with Harold Arlen; they could have been talking about the keynote speech at the 2013 K&M Dealer Meeting.

The song's refrain goes like this:

You've got to accentuate the positive,

Eliminate the negative

And latch on to the affirmative.

Don't mess with Mister In-Between.

Speaking to attendees at the dealer meeting in Orlando, Dr. Alan Zimmerman accentuated the positive. In his speech "The Payoff Principle: How you can motivate yourself and others to win every time in any situation," he gave plenty of examples of negative feedback, and how these "killer thoughts and statements" can hurt your bottom line.

To read all about it, check out the latest blog by Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich, "Negativity hurts profitability. Here's how to know if you are too negative."

Ulrich added his own thoughts on the subject. Do you agree with him and/or Dr. Zimmerman? Are you too negative? Are your employees too sensitive? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment!
