Nokian Tyres plc's trademark Hakkapeliitta tire name is now part of the National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland's "List of Trademarks with a Reputation."
"Admission to the list requires substantial evidence of a trademark's awareness in Finland," say Nokian officials.
Nokian first introduced the Hakkapeliitta winter tire in 1936. The tire is sold in more than 50 countries.
