Deadline nears for Tire Dealer of the Year nominations

May 20, 2008

There's still time to nominate candidates for Modern Tire Dealer's 2008 Tire Dealer of the Year Award, the most prestigious honor that an independent tire dealer can receive. Deadline for nominations is June 2.

Each year, one dealer is chosen from a pool of 26,000 eligible candidates throughout North America. (The contest is open to independent tire dealers of any size.) Candidates are evaluated in five key categories: business success, marketing skill, management skill, industry knowledge and community involvement.

Past MTD Tire Dealer of the Year Award winners have included tire industry giants like Les Schwab, founder of Les Schwab Tire Centers, the third largest independent tire store chain in the United States, as well as smaller dealers like Barry Steinberg, president of Direct Tire & Auto Service in Watertown, Mass.
