General named official tire of off-road series

Continental Tire North America Inc.'s (CTNA) General brand has been named the official tire of the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing, starting this year.

"The series races off-road trucks and buggies in front of live spectator audiences throughout the Midwest, and is shown nationally on SPEED Channel," say CTNA officials.

"The (series) is the perfect venue to promote the General Grabber line of light truck and SUV tires," says Travis Roffler, CTNA's director of marketing.

"The new General Grabber HTS tire was born from off-road racing, and this line will continue to expand to meet the demands of the light truck market."

The Off-Road World Series season opener is May 31-June 1 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.
