Continental will raise truck tire prices on July 1

May 16, 2008

Continental Tire North America Inc. will raise commercial tire prices effective July 1. The increases, up to 8%, will apply to Continental, General, Semperit and all private brand truck tires.

According to Continental, the increases are in response to the "unprecedented (cost) escalation of raw materials that are used in making radial truck tires, such as natural rubber, steel, carbon black and crude oil."

The company last raised truck tire prices Feb. 1. The increases maxed out at 6%.
