Snider adds fifth Michelin retread plant

Oct. 28, 2009

Snider Tire Inc., one of the largest commercial tire dealerships in the United States, recently opened its fifth Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) plant.

The new plant in Bluffton, Ind., will supply retreads to two of the dealership's Tire and Retread Asset Control System (TRACS) locations: one in Blytheville, Ark., and one in Cambridge, Ohio. TRACS refers to Snider Tire’s cradle-to-grave tire and retread solution for trucking fleet customers.

“More and more trucking fleets are focusing on the value that a comprehensive tire management program can bring, and that includes both high-quality products and services,” says John Snider, founder and president of Snider Tire. “Being able to supply even more MRT products to our TRACS customers will give them an even better chance to stay competitive in today’s marketplace.”

The addition of the Bluffton plant gives MRT 81 retread plants in the U.S.
