Oct. 22, 2009

Les Schwab Tire Centers, one of the largest retread manufacturers in the United States, is consolidating its Redding, Calif., retread operation into its Prineville, Ore., retread plant.

After the consolidation, Les Schwab will have three retread shops.

"We have done a great deal of research and planning for this consolidation and believe it will strengthen our retread operations while continuing to provide our commercial customers with outstanding customer service," says company CEO Dick Borgman.

Les Schwab currently produces 1,220 medium truck and 15 OTR tire retread per day, according to Modern Tire Dealer data.
