CAA-Quebec, the Quebec affiliate of the American Automobile Association, is promoting proper winter tire selection by offering consumer-oriented "reminders."
The materials are available at the group's 12 service and 10 technical inspection centers. An electronic version also is available at www.caaquebec.com/Accueil/Index.htm?lang=en.
"Besides the fact that the law in Quebec requires vehicles to be equipped with winter tires by Dec. 15, specialists agree that as soon as the temperature drops below seven degrees Celsius, summer or all-season tires no longer deliver the same performance," say CAA-Quebec officials.
