Former Everybody's Oil CEO Jones dies

J. Arnold Jones, former CEO and president of Everybody's Oil Corp. dba Tire Barn, one of the country's largest independent tire store chains, died on Sept. 2 at the age of 91.

Jones, whose father founded Everybody's Oil Corp. in 1930, retired from the Anderson, Ind.-based dealership in 1989. The 31-outlet company is now run by his son, Christopher Jones, who serves as its CEO and president.

The elder Jones was active in numerous civic and business associations. Preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Pinnell Jones and granddaughter, Sally LaRue Gibson, he is survived by wife, Betsy Jones; six children; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Madison County, Ind., or the United Way of Lee County, Fla. Jones lived in Fort Myers, Fla.
