Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. will open a Tire Dealers' Warehouse (TDW) location in Bakersfield, Calif., on July 1. "The facility is the company’s fifth such expansion in less than two years," say Hercules officials.
"The TDW division continues to grow within our organization," says Hercules President and CEO Larry Seawell.
"With recent expansions in the Southeast, Pacific Northwest and now West Coast, this strategic business unit continues to flourish."
The expansion into Bakersfield "represents a gateway to (California's) Central Valley for our tire distribution,” says Robert Carnahan, TDW regional general manager.
The Bakersfield TDW location will offer "the full spectrum of Hercules tires," according to Hercules officials, as well as Toyo,
Kumho, Yokohama, Falken, Nexen, Federal, Denman, and other brands.
Dan Drerup will serve as the Bakersfield TDW branch manager. Drerup most recently served as general manager for Wayco Retread Inc. in Santa Maria, California. Prior to that assignment, he worked for Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and spent 16 years with Hercules' old Tread Rubber Division.
Hercules operates regional wholesale warehouses in California, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Florida, Oregon, Ontario, and New Brunswick, under the TDW or Hercules Tire Canada names.
