Cincinnati, Ohio-based Tire Discounters Inc. recently opened a new store in Richmond, Ky., which brings its total store count up to 58, making the dealership the 14th largest independent tire store chain in the U.S., according to the 2009 Modern Tire Dealer 100.

The outlet has six bays and spans 6,000 square feet, according to Tire Discounters President Chip Wood.

Another outlet is being "fast tracked" to open later this year, he adds. The store will be located in the greater Cincinnati area.

"We have two more inked deals that are in the early stages and quite a few others that should break loose soon."

Tire Discounters sells Michelin, BFGoodrich, Goodyear, Kelly, Toyo, Continental, General, Pirelli, Capitol, American, Dunlop, Uniroyal and Mickey Thompson brand passenger and light truck tires. For more information, see the 2009 MTD 100, available in the July 2009 issue of Modern Tire Dealer!
