July 17, 2009

The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving has been named the official driving school of the Motor Trend Proving Ground at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show to be held Nov. 3 - 6 in Las Vegas.

Professional instructors from the school will serve as drivers at the Proving Ground, where they will host driving demonstrations on a 51,000-square-foot track.

"The Bondurant School has a long history of providing driving instruction to everyone from professional racers and police officers to students and celebrities," says Ken Thom, general manager and president, Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.

"Our recent launch of the Bondurant Championship Race Series, which begins in September, encourages aspiring drivers as well as enthusiasts to take their driving skills to the next level. We are excited to be able to share our passion and expertise with those at the SEMA Show."

Located between the Central and South Halls, the Motor Trend Proving Ground has been a popular attraction of the SEMA Show since 2003. Buyers and media come to test new products at the track through hands-on driving experiences.

Opened by Bob Bondurant in 1968, the Bondurant School, one of the largest driving schools in North America featuring a 1.6-mile road course and an eight-acre asphalt skills pad for basic training, is located on the Gila River Indian Community outside of Phoenix, Ariz. The school has taught advanced driving skills to more than 250,000 students.
