The Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area near Gilmer, Texas, has joined the BFGoodrich Outstanding Trails program.
BFGoodrich brand owner Michelin North America Inc. and the United Four Wheel Drive Associations chose the area "because it provides riding opportunities for many skill levels on varied terrain," according to Michelin officials.
Launched in 2006, the Outstanding Trails Program is dedicated to the responsible use and preservation of off-road trails. Since its inception, the program has recognized 17 off-road trails in 14 states, plus two in Canada. The program also has given $62,000 in grants to off-road clubs.
