ASA awards $25K bailout to Texas dealership

April 29, 2009

ASA Tire Systems has awarded $25,000 to Superior Tire of Orange, Texas, as part of its Tire Dealer Bailout Program.

The money will be used to update and strengthen Superior Tire's technology infrastructure as Superior Tire continues to rebuild its business following Hurricane Ike, which ripped through Texas six months ago.

"Hurricane Ike's surge destroyed the levee along the Sabine River near Orange, where Superior Tire has one of its five locations," say ASA officials. "Floodwaters from Ike were reportedly as high as eight feet. Superior Tire reported five feet of floodwater in its Orange store. The business lost one of its stores completely."

"Getting up and running with major damage at two stores... was a challenge," says Mike Hughes, a Superior Tire spokesman. "To have our software company, ASA, step up and help with a generous amount to offset some computer-related expenses was a blessing."

To date, ASA has received 200 applications and has granted nearly 30% of its Tire Dealer Bailout Program money. Dealers can apply for funds by visiting www.asatire.com/bailout or by contacting an ASA representative at (603) 889-8700.
