CTNA launches truck fuel efficiency contest

March 24, 2009

Continental Tire North America Inc.'s (CTNA) new "Beat the Best" contest, which runs through May 15, promotes fuel efficiency.

During the 10-week competition, participating fleets -- shod with Continental truck tires -- must drive at least 10,000 miles. The fleet that achieves the lowest fuel consumption in gallons per 100 miles will be crowned Fuel Savings Champion.

The goal of the contest "is to demystify the impact tires have on fuel savings," says Shaun Uys, CTNA director of replacement tire sales, North America.
