Dunn Tire offers 'options' with discount shop

March 13, 2009

"In this economy, people need options outside normal retail pricing," says Pat Logue, managing director of retail operations at Dunn Tire Corp.

The Cheektowaga, N.Y.-based dealership is providing a number of options for credit- and cash-strapped customers through its discount store in Tonawanda, N.Y.

The outlet, which opened in January, sells quality used and discontinued passenger and light truck tires with a single, "out the door" price. It averages 300 units per month. (The store also carries Dunn's full line of new tires.)

The store has garnered "really good recognition, including a letter from the mayor of Tonawanda," says Logue. Dunn Tire may open discount stores in other markets if the concept continues to do well.
