Three-day Intelligent Tire Technology Conference begins Monday, April 28

Time is running out to sign up for the third annual Intelligent Tire Technology Conference, to be held April 28-30 at the Marriott Dearborn Inn Hotel in Dearborn, Mich.

The tire industry will be well represented at the conference. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Michelin North America Inc., Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC, Pirelli Tire North America Inc. and Yokohama Tire Corp. will participate. So will representatives from Continental Engineering Services GmbH and Continental Corp., Schrader Electronics, Robert Bosch GmbH, TRW Automotive, EnTire Solutions LLC, Hennessy Industries Inc. and Hunter Engineering Co.

Representatives from the following vehicle manufacturers also will be in attendence:

* Ford Motor Co.

* Mitsubishi Motors R&D of America Inc.

* Chrysler LLC.

* Audi AG.

* Hyundai America Technical Center Inc.

* American Honda Motor Co. Inc.

The conference, which focuses on tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) implementation and technology, begins at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 28, with a series of pre-conference workshops. They will last until 9 p.m. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served.

Day one of the main conference will start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29. Kevin Rohlwing, senior vice president of training for the Tire Industry Association, will open the main conference with a presentation on "Understanding Commonality Platform Protocols." The seven-presentation lineup will end at 4:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served on day one and day two.

Day two of the main conference will start at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30. John Maxgay, lead TPMS engineer for General Motors Corp., will start the final day off with the first of six presentations. Maxgay will discuss "Using Consumer Perceptions to Improve TPMS Design." The conference will conclude at 4 p.m.
