Feb. 25, 2009

Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels is pleased to announce a new and innovative program developed in conjunction with the American Drag Racing League.  The Mickey Thompson ADRL Extreme 10.5 Three-Second Club combines several special prizes into one great awards program. Prizes include a special-edition diamond ring set in white gold, a custom-made leather coat and $3000 in cash to the first five race teams able to achieve less than four-second runs in the Extreme 10.5 Class.

“All of us at Team M/T are really excited to intensify our participation in the ADRL through the introduction of this special program,” said Carl Robinson, Motorsports Manager for Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels.  “Our association with the fastest growing organization in drag racing is great, and the teams racing here will be pushing their vehicles and our tires in order to be recognized as distinguished members of the Three-Second Club!”

Mickey Thompson will also act as the official sponsor of the onsite Media Room at all venues for the 2009 ADRL racing season providing snacks, beverages and more for the members of the media attending and covering the ADRL racing series.

“Mickey Thompson products have been competing in our race events since day one,” said Kenny Knowling, President of the ADRL. “We are privileged to have Mickey Thompson as the sponsor of this elite group in our Extreme 10.5 class.”

About The ADRL
The American Drag Racing League is one of the fastest growing classes in drag racing. Dozens of Outlaw Pro Modified racers compete nearly every weekend at tracks all over the United States to huge numbers of spectators. Record crowds pack small tracks week in and week out to see these "Outlaws" put it all on the line. The Outlaw racing class got its name because there are no performance-restricting rules placed on the racers by sanctioning bodies. These racers consistently run elapsed times and speeds that are quicker and faster than conventional Pro Modified racers.
