ACCC dealers raise money for food bank

Feb. 6, 2009

Six American Car Care Centers (ACCC) dealers in the Knoxville, Tenn., area have raised more than $3,300 for a local charity, the Second Harvest Food Bank.

"Since November, the (dealers) have exchanged discounts on services for a $10 donation to the Second Harvest, with discounts applicable to services such as oil changes, brake jobs and brand name tires," says Craig Chrisman, owner of Westgate Tire ACCC in Newport, Tenn.

The charity distributes food to more than 125,000 needy children, adults and seniors each month. Last year, it provided more than nine million meals in 18 Tennessee counties.

The fundraiser will continue through this month.
